In 2024 everybody wants to call themselves a DJ/MC more than ever before in the history of weddings.  For as long as I can remember anyone with a laptop playing their favourite kind of music in their bedroom has called themselves a DJ.  But everything changed in 2024.

In 2024 because it is getting financially harder to get ahead we have people involved in the wedding industry, like singers, duos and acoustic guitarists now calling themselves a DJ/MC.  I get it.  They are just trying to make a living.

But now, we have celebrants calling themselves a DJ.  Why?  Same reason as above.  Business for them as a celebrant is harder post covid.  Again I get it.  Any seasoned wedding supplier knows when couples are looking for suppliers/vendors for their wedding couples book venues, dresses, celebrants etc before entertainment.  It’s always been that way.  So now because celebrants are finding it harder and harder to make a financial living they are diversifying.

People interested / focused in being a great DJ/MC, especially a wedding DJ/MC, is harder and harder to find.  When you are looking for your DJ/MC for your wedding, look for someone who is not only passionate about weddings but an entertainer that focuses exclusively on being a wedding DJ/MC, not a celebrant, florist focused on making a living.

You want a packed dance floor, guests withe sore feet and ‘ear to ear’ smiles then speak to a real professional DJ/MC.
